Hi list
i am a little puzzled. I just tried to set up the LDAP check against
several hosts but no matter what i do, the check does not appear.
All other active checks i have (DNS, HTTP, SQL..) do work but not this one.
It just does not appear on the defined hosts, cmk -nvp also does not show
it.

I am a little puzzled ;-)

I use check_ldap_monitor.pl on "Classical active and passive Monitoring
checks". I think it's better than check_ldap.

That does seem strange. Are you sure the rule is active and also assigned
to the correct hosts/folder?

I use this active check and have had no issues with it.

Solved.
It turned out a colleague played a "trick" on me.
He wanted to do a favor to our Active Directory team (which is responsible
for all our 1200 domain controllers)
because they want to see only specific service checks.
This is realized with a "disabled services" rule with a negation on the end.

:-)
